Vistas Release Debut Album - 'Everything Changes in the End'

29/05/2020

The much anticipated debut album from indie sensations Vistas has finally landed.

With a back catalogue stretching all the way back to their first single 'Sign Language' back in 2016, the wait is finally over for Vistas debut album.

The Scottish trio, Pretince Robertson, Dylan Rush and Jamie Law came together whilst still at school and have been creating fast-paced, upbeat, and vivacious tunes ever since.

'Everything Changes in the End', officially released 29th May 2020, offers more of the same. Looking back at teenage years and embracing all aspects of life in a band, the blue skies of the album artwork are reflected throughout the shimmering tunes.

Following a brief intro, the album opens with the title track 'Everything Changes in the End'. The band waste no time in delivering their typical sing-along chorus fans have come to expect. Any intense build up is blown away immediately through tuneful guitar and the recognisable Scottish twang rings clear.

The titular tune is followed up by the four recently released singles, 'Teenage Blues', '15 Years', 'Sucker', and 'Summer'. Spanning four years of song writing all the way from 'Summer', the oldest track on the album, to '15 Years' written midway through recording, Vistas remain true to their melancholic lyricism that is masked and overrode by the optimistic noise.

Side A of the record is closed out with 'Tigerblood'. Released two years previous in May 2018, 'Tigerblood' is a Vistas staple. The song last played on gig nights and festival afternoons is a fan favourite and the perfect summer anthem.

The highlight of the previously unreleased tracks is 'Shout'. Proclaimed on their own twitter page as a "bop", it's impossible to keep your feet still. The songs message, looking out for your friends and knowing they are there for you, is delivered with conviction. The drum leads the tempo from the outset in what is sure to become another Vistas classic.

'Sentimental' demonstrates the band are more than just a catchy chorus. Feast your ears on the bass line during the build-up- a moment created to harvest the crowd's energy before mayhem ensues.

Vistas biggest hit, 'Retrospect', a song which as racked up over 8,000,000 listens on Spotify, is the albums penultimate track. Hitting the same themes of nostalgia referenced throughout the record it's a song the band claim the "wouldn't be where [they] are now without it".

Rounding out the album "November" reissues the calm following eleven tracks of frenzy. In a cyclical fashion, the title of the first track is also the last line of the album. The band has taken us from summer boppers into the serenity of winter- with the door left open.

'Everything Changes in the End' is THE sound of summer. There's no skips, no filler tracks- just pure unrivalled joy with fast-paced foot-tappers and a heavy dose of elation.
